I've heard it said time and time again - there's a reason people have children while they're young - I just can't remember the reason, probably because I'm too dang old!

I had just turned 48 when I found out I was going to be a father again. I decided then and there to retire from a nice corporate gig -- give up most of my material possessions - pull up roots - and head to Canada to raise my child with my sexy wife.

Piece-O-Cake - so I thought.

Mae will be three this fall - she's a handful. Raising her is a job much bigger than anything I ever encountered in all of my days in corporate life - nothing even comes close.

So -- what's in it for me? She's a love child - she loves to love - she's amused and bemused by the world around her - she reminds me that if I were to die, nothing would much matter - other than knowing that I gave her my heart each and every day - and she willingly gave me hers...

What's in it for me? As I lay down to sleep each night - I wish for another day - just so I can watch Mae grow...
