I spent the day with my mom. I had a great time, as I always do. I like to make my mom laugh. We did that, and we cried a bit, too - looking at old photos together and reminiscing... (Actually, Mom - I was teary-eyed thinking about eating all that German Chocolate cake you made me! Have any idea how hard it is to work off just one piece of that delightful treat?).
I brought two of my favorite cameras with me today and thought I'd ask my mom if I could take a few photos. The light was nice in her living room, and she looked so pretty. She said yes - and I have to admit, I was nervous!! It's true. I was actually perspiring as I was taking a meter reading. The light was a little low, and I didn't bring a tripod - so I was really worried about keeping a steady hand.
The best part is this - my mom is a NATURAL in front of the camera. I didn't have to tell her anything, she just put ME at ease. Of course, she's been doing that my entire life - so it really shouldn't come as a surprise. I had a lot of fun shooting several rolls of film, and I think she really enjoyed being my model for the day.
I also brought a really old roll of color film with me, too (Thanks, AB). I had an idea I wanted to try with my mom, and like any good supermodel, she just went with it - I hope the film turns out! Stay tuned. (Mom - don't forget about the other project I have in mind! That will REALLY be fun!)
Thanks, Mom. I had a great day. You never cease to amaze me. I love you. Oh - and this is off the first roll I took, I'm still waiting for the other negatives to dry - I just wanted to show everyone my wonderful mom! (Mom - I'm glad I kept the dog in the frame - adds something special, don't you think?).
Everyone have a wonderful week. I have to go see about some cake...
