Nighthouse

UPDATE: Since several people asked about exposure detail, I thought I would include it here for everyone to see - Aperture: f11 Shutter Speed: 160 seconds Focal Length: 12mm ISO: 200 --- thanks to everyone for the great comments and encouragement. Be on the lookout for John's tutorial!

First, I want to thank John for teaching me the fine art of night photography -- damn, I never thought I'd have so much fun with the cold wind, and waves whipping up all around me! I'm ALMOST thawed out...

Next -- I love this image. I played Rush on my iPod the whole time I processed it. I warmed the image a bit during RAW conversion -- touched the curves a tad -- but that's about it... This is a great place for night photography -- there's so much we haven't tackled just yet -- but I think we'll be back out again tomorrow or Thursday night.

I know John will be posting up a night photography tutorial soon -- pay close attention! I'll just say this -- bring batteries, a sturdy tripod, and a hat and gloves! You won't be sorry -- it's exciting as hell to see weird and whacky images appear on the screen... I have plenty more --- stay tuned....
