One of my most favorite photographers is Sally Mann - for lots of reasons - but probably the biggest is her ability to take her photography to a new level - time and time again. I have a documentary about her and in it she talks about reaching a plateau - one where you've taken what you believe to be your very best photograph - and you're convinced you can do no better. But - you find a way - you take a camera out with you - and you begin to look at the world again - in different ways - new ways. Suddenly, you find yourself above the plateau - again - renewed - and ready for new challenges...
I never really got what she was saying -- but I do now...
