Out in the Country
I'm in a pissy mood tonight. I sent my scanner in for repair a few weeks ago. I sent them sample files and a very clear letter explaining the issue. Nikon sent the scanner back today with no real indication of what was wrong with it, just a note saying a part was replaced. I plugged it in - scanned an image - same issue. Same exact issue. God gawd -- sometimes I just hate technology. Thankfully I have a backup in the Epson 4990, but it's just not the same. I have to send the scanner back tomorrow. Thankfully, it's under warranty - but as I look back at my first scans, I see the issue was there from the first day. Something's not right. Anyway. It's the weekend! Enjoy it. I may head down to Indiana to catch another look at the Whooping Cranes. They are the most beautiful birds I've ever seen - well, maybe the Great Blue Heron is equally beautiful -- then, there's the White-breasted Nuthatch - oh, and the Brown-headed Nuthatch - and the - well, I just can't help myself - birds are incredible creatures. If I go, I'll take Lainey with me - and a camera. Have a fantastical weekend. If you get the chance, pick up the new Lenswork and check out O. Rufus Lovett's work - talk about incredible! You can go to the link I provided and click on the PDF to get a preview. You'll see his images near the end. Wonderful work. The interview is well worth the read - don't miss it!
