Best Friends

My mom sent along some original photographs of me and my brother. I had the digital versions, but I hadn't seen the originals in a very long time. There's something about holding the original in your hand that brings it all rushing back in - for me, a good feeling. I miss my brother more than I can describe. I know I'm doing some of the things I'm doing now because he's with me in spirit. We're doing them together. He rides with me - he sees with me - he thinks with me - he is in wonderment of the world - with me. He is always with me.

I'll be spending some time with my mom this winter. She has a hat box full of photographs. I remember that hat box when I was a young lad. It's a REAL hat box - complete with the ornate trimmings. It IS full of photographs. I'm not sure who took all of them, but I do know my talents grew from those photographs - I loved looking at them as a child, and I've done my best to capture life as well as my parents did through their own photography. I can't wait to see the photos again. The best part is my mom has decided to pass them along to me - finally. I think I've somehow proved to her that I'm a capable photographer - and worthy of safe guarding our family memories. Thanks, mom. I try :-)

It's Friday. It's going to rain here all weekend - I'll be inside all weekend. Probably a good thing. I need to clean my house. Lala will be visiting soon, I wouldn't want her to think Lainey and I live like pigs.

If you have sun and and light this weekend -- get out in it and enjoy. Fall will descend upon us soon - and for my friends down-under, spring is here! Enjoy.
